For over thirty years, Leota Sigrid Boesen has taught violin and viola students in The Woodlands to reach their own goals & go beyond — whether that's a chair in the school or regional orchestra, highest rating in competitions, a scholarship to the college of their dreams, or simply playing the instrument they love, well.

The Woodlands runs on packed calendars and heavy traffic. Leota teaches both in person and online, so a family's lesson schedule doesn't have to break for a conflict, a commute, a move, or travel — a student's progress stays consistent either way.

Named The Fifth Grade Orchestra Student of the Year by her director, Harper was promoted to Clark Intermediate's top orchestra after just one semester — and performed a solo after only three months of study.
Named "Most Outstanding Freshman Performer" in the Chamber Orchestra and Principal (First Chair) of the Viola Section all year — following a #1 ranking as a junior high violist in Region IX.
After just two weeks of lessons, Julia auditioned for her school's Chamber Orchestra and won a chair. By the 2025–2026 school year, she was sitting Principal (First Chair) Viola of that top orchestra all year — and of the Conroe ISD Sixth Grade Honor Orchestra.
Earned a Superior Rating at Solo & Ensemble Contest performing the first movement of Seitz's Concerto No. 5, with a level of commitment rare for his age.
A violist in the Chamber Orchestra — the top orchestra at Irons Junior High — Nadia earned a Superior Rating performing Martini's "Gavotte" at Solo & Ensemble Contest.
A violist in Kleb Intermediate's Chamber Orchestra and a straight-A student, Lucas earned a Superior Rating performing Paganini's "Theme from Witches' Dance."

Students find inspiration from real working musicians. Leota has hosted an exclusive complimentary 2026 Q&A for her students with Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, with a goal of offering a session like this once or twice a year with other music professionals.
A Working Musician's Circle
For almost 40 years Leota has played violin and viola in orchestras in The Woodlands, including twenty years accompanying Lyle Lovett's Christmas Eve and Easter performances in Spring, Texas — the kind of real-world musical life students see up close.
An Active Performer, Herself
Leota's own performing life spans small ensembles to full orchestras — from her string quartet to performances with full orchestras. Students study with a teacher who is still actively performing, not one teaching from memory of it.
Once a student, always family.
Leota's studio relationships don't end at graduation. In December 2025, two former students from The Woodlands High School Class of 2015 came back to visit — Dr. Nico Carswell, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate now in a psychiatry residency, and Aidan McMorrow, a violist pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
The promise was there early: as college freshmen, Nico won a seat in the second violin section of the University of Houston's top orchestra, and Aidan auditioned into Penn State's Campus Orchestra as third chair viola, Associate Principal — both after their quartets earned the state's highest rating at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Competition.
